Family of dying girl seeks direct donor for lung transplant
Fri May 31, 2013
I think as an organ donor, I'd rather my organs go to a child. I'm sure a lot of people feel that way. Everyone is special to someone, and death is always a tragedy.
Forbidden artist Ai Weiwei makes massive map of China out of baby formula
Sat May 25, 2013
It would have been just as artistic to recycle empty formula cans for the project.
Sentenced to debt: Some tossed in prison over unpaid fines
Mon May 27, 2013
Nason burglarized someone's house and was ordered to pay restitution for it. It wasn't an unpaid parking ticket. Should homeowners just eat it to spare the poor criminals from consequences? So what if he's poor? That's what happens when you're a burglar.
Funeral director in Boston bombing case used to serving the unwanted
Mon May 6, 2013
No one wants their loved ones to be buried next to a terrorist. It is NOT compassionate to put a body like this in a public cemetery where it would cause others so much grief. If you can find a way to be compassionate without causing anguish to others, then fine.

Outrage, sadness as Americans barred from adopting Russian children
Sat Mar 30, 2013
Actually there aren't "plenty of kids here" waiting for adoption. There are many in foster care, but they are not available for adoption. All foster parents get to do is house them temporarily until the state returns them to their unfit parents.
Mother, aunt of Georgia baby murder suspect arrested, charged with lying
Tue Mar 26, 2013
"Innocent until proven guilty" refers to our standard for the judicial system. It doesn't apply to the media or online forums or private thoughts. It's still okay to have, share and debate opinions before a verdict.
A 'worrisome' risk: Most babies are fed solid food too soon, study finds
Mon Mar 25, 2013
The mothers I know who fed their babies solids before 6 months or switched to cow's milk before 12 months did it because it was cheaper, and true or not, said their doctors OK'd it. They were also vehemently defensive of this decision. More education won't solve the problem of stingy parents.

More adoptive moms learn to breast-feed their babies
Okay, you were a good mom. Feel validated now? Can we just be happy for these adoptive mothers, without stroking the delicate egos of non-breastfeeders?
I'm a biological mom, and I can't say I felt much of a bond during pregnancy. I didn't feel any established "bond" when the baby was born, and I think it was about 2 weeks later that I actually felt bonded with the baby.
A fetus cannot smell their mother. Air intake is necessary for aerial particulates to pass through the olfactory system and be perceived as a smell.
I would be happy to see a link to this research in a peer-reviewed scientific journal! There are just so many logical problems with that assertion. First, the olfactory system senses gaseous molecules, which are not present in utero.
